Mr. Bob Butler, NOT an Optician, A Local Legend!

People all over Vancouver have been calling Bob their 'Optician' for years. The truth is, Bob has been helping people with their spectacles since long before the current legal term 'Optician' has been used in BC! He has been here at MPOC since the building was completed and we first opened January 2, 1950. With over 60 years of experience in the industry, Bob's abilities in helping our patients is truly, legendary.

Bob certainly has kept on top of his craft over the decades. We've had a few newly licensed Opticians contact us hoping to shadow Mr. Butler for a day or two to learn from the master! We are honoured to have Bob in 2 days per week currently, so if you need to have specialized repairs or adjustments done that only Bob can do, please call ahead to find out when he will be in - indeed, he has lineups on a regular basis.

Bob also keeps a sharp eye on style and quality - he was responsible for introducing the Danish 'Air Titanium' collection of frames to our dispensary, which went on to win the most prestigious awards in the optical industry. Outside the clinic, Bob is now a great grandfather, and he enjoys spending his spare time with his family. We are all very fortunate that he still finds time to come into the clinic two days a week; this is also much to the delight of our patients whom have been seeing Bob for years and who greatly appreciate his decades of experience!
